Hi I'm Johanna!
Contemporary dancer and choreographer from Finland
Teacher, Master of Arts, and PhD candidate in dance research, I am interested in exploring approaches to contemporary dance through various somatic and energetic practices, continually questioning how we dance and interact with movement. My professional training includes the Ballet School of the Finnish National Opera, the Royal Swedish Ballet School, the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (S.E.A.D.), the University of Côte d'Azur, and international exchanges such as ImPulsTanz. Between 2014 and 2019, I worked as an assistant choreographer to German choreographer Margarita Nagel, contributing to creations such as Eija, Values at Least, Inline Analysis, Ein Tag Zu Zweit, AM, and Projections. In 2020, I founded Narrative Body and choreographed and co-produced Astray (2020), The Other Me (2022), Walssi (2022), and TOM Ext. (2023). I have been researching dance and movement at several institutions in France over the past years. Currently, I am deepening my understanding of the human body by studying Chinese medicine in Helsinki.
